Understanding your Virtual IBAN (vIBAN) for transfers
When you make or receive international transfers through TransferGo, you may be provided with a virtual IBAN (vIBAN).
A vIBAN works much like a regular IBAN, but instead of representing a standalone bank account, it is a unique identifier linked to your TransferGo Account.
It allows you to receive money in your name, in a specific currency, and helps TransferGo route funds quickly and accurately.

What this means for you
Because your vIBAN is provided through these banks, please note that:
- • Some services are subject to their jurisdiction and regulation.
- • Your TransferGo Account continues to function as normal; however, payments made to or from your vIBAN follow rules that apply to their bank accounts.
- • This setup helps TransferGo offer fast, reliable, and local-style transfers in euros (EUR), Polish Zloty (PLN), US Dollar (USD) and British pound (GBP).
Important to note: Even though your vIBAN is issued by these banks, the funds in your TransferGo Account remain safeguarded and protected in line with all regulatory requirements.
